The Two Main Functions of a UV Filter

A UV filter is seen by many professionals as an essential piece of equipment. It serves two functions. It protects the front element of the lens. It can also enhance the picture quality of your captured images.

A filter, like this K&F UV filter, screws onto the thread found at the front of your lens. Once attached, it sits unobtrusively in front of your lenses front element. UV light can result in a bluish colour cast in images. Filtering out UV light can reduce haze in images while improving contrast for a clearer picture.

To improve their performance these K&F filters are multi coated. The coating is to prevent fogging. It also has a blue coat. This works to provide high transmittance and low reflectivity.
